STANDING UP TO AIDS
1st December is observed as World Aids Day globally to apprise the citizen of its cause and to educate them about its prevention, detection and associated treatment. This day also aims at annihilating any shame whatsoever associated with this decrease in the patients and their families. World Aids Day decided upon the theme “Known Your Status” which encourage everyone to know their HIV status.
What Is Aids?
Aids is an infection caused by a virus called HIV(Human Immunodeficiency Virus). It is a type of virus that targets and alters the immune system, increasing risk and impact of other infection and diseases. Without treatment, the infection might progress to an advanced disease stage called AIDS(Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.)

Did you know young people ages (13-24) account for 26% of all new HIV infections each year. About 3.9 million young people (15-24) were living with HIV in 2014. To aware youth about HIV, the government declares 10 April as National Youth HIV & Aids Awareness Day(NYHAAD). NYHAAD serve as a reminder that investing in young people’s health and education is a critical step to achieving an AIDS-free generation.
How to Fight With Aids?
Kritarth Handicrafts urge all fellow Indians to unite in the solidarity against this menace and fight it. We should educate ourselves and others about the prevention of AIDS. As an individual, we should always keep in mind about all prevention and stop spreading aids in our generation.
